历史由来|Historical Origin

The Sutra on the Divination of the Karmic Retribution of Good and Evil is one of the three major Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva scriptures. When Sakyamuni Buddha was about to enter Nirvana, a Bodhisattva named Firm Faith asked the Buddha how can sentient beings have peace and clarity when they are burdened by heavy karmic obstacles and deluded views? In response, the Buddha entrusted Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva to expound on a specific method to observe one's own karmic retributions of good and evil, dispel doubts, strengthen faith, and avoid creating further negative karma.

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A FORTUNE TELLING CLASS

This practice is a stringent and long process of cultivation, which must be accompanied by

Repentance rituals: to eliminate karmic obstacles and purify body, speech, and mind.
Reciting the holy name of Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva: at least 10,000 times, with utmost sincerity and reverence.
Vows to practice: cultivating great compassion to benefit all beings.

Wordly fortune-telling is often based on yin-yang forces, five elements, astrology etc. The intention is the pursuit of material wealth and success in this lifetime. On the other hand, the core of Sutra on the Divination of the Karmic Retribution of Good and Evil is to help us recognise karmic cause and effect from previous lifetimes, adjust our mind and conduct, and move toward liberation. The intention is very different.

Hence, this puja series is an extended process of preparing those interested in learning this practice. It is a definite pre-requisite. Thereafter, if you are sincerely interested in mastering the specific divination techniques, please approach our temple staff and they will access your suitability first.

《占察善恶业报经》是地藏三经之一。本师释迦牟尼佛将入灭时，坚净信菩萨请问佛陀：众生业障深重、邪见横行，如何才能生起清净信心？作为回应，佛陀请地藏菩萨宣说此法，教导众生通过特定方法观察自身的善恶业报，消除疑惑，坚定信心，避免造业。

注意：这绝对不是算命课程

这一法门是一个严格且漫长的修行过程，必须配合：

拜忏：消除业障，净化身口意。
念地藏菩萨圣号：至少一万声，至诚恭敬。
发愿修行：以大悲心利益众生。

世间算命通常依据阴阳五行或星象等等为基础，其目的是追求今生的物质财富与成功。另一方面，《占察善恶业报经》的核心是帮助我们认识以往的业力因果，调整心行，走向解脱。两者的意图截然不同。

因此，此法会是为有兴趣学习此法门的善信们而准备的功课。这是绝对的先决条件。此后，如果您真心希望掌握具体的占察技巧，请联系本寺的工作人员，让他们先评估您的适合度。

每月的第二个周六 | Second Saturday of each month

Joining halfway? Rates are pro-prated as follows. For example, if you decide to join in July and want to register for Light Offering, the rate will be $120, which covers July through till December. Similarly, if you wish to offer Fruits & Flowers from October, the rate will be $114, which covers October through till December.

若中途加入供养金额将按以下比例折算。例如，如果您决定在七月报名“供灯”，金额将是 $120，涵盖七月至十二月的供养。同样的，如果您希望从十月开始报名“供水果花篮”，金额将是 $114，涵盖十月至十二月的供养。
